JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Museum Store Coordinator

 

Part time:

20 Hours per week

Monday-Friday Winter

Tuesday-Friday and Alternate Saturdays during Summer

 

Benefits: Vacation Holidays Sick Pay

Supervisors: ACC Director and Museum Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the operation of the Sweet Grass Gift Shop including:

  • Record daily cash transactions, prepare monthly deposits, provide financial reports
  • Maintain merchandise inventory, care for organization and displays for museum store
  • Manage social media and online presence to promote Akwesasne Cultural Center
  • Provide excellent customer service in person, online or on the phone
  • Other duties as assigned which may include providing limited assistance in caring for or developing museum exhibits

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 1 year post-secondary education or training in related field
  • Proficient computer skills and familiar with Excel, Word and Microsoft office programs
  • Prior retail sales/customer service experience involving cash register and proper cash handling policies
  • Excellent customer service skills and team player

 

PREFERRED:

  • 2 years post-secondary business education/experience or a combination of both
  • Familiarity with Traditional Haudenosaunee Arts
