Salary Range: $25,334.40 to 40,456.00 ($12.18 to 19.45)

Status: Full-time, permanent, non-exempt

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Three Sisters Program Manager, the Safe Home Monitor is responsible for providing support and advocacy services to residents of the program’s confidential safe home shelter who are victims of domestic violence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Complete shelter screening, intake and exit procedures.
  • Monitor shelter activities to maintain a safe and supportive shelter atmosphere.
  • Maintain all required shelter paperwork in a timely, accurate, objective, and confidential manner.
  • Function as a cooperative member of the shelter services team while communicating with other staff.
  • Communicate with callers, shelter residents and staff in a manner that reflects respect and equality among all individuals.
  • Assist with generating schedules and stay apprised of any issues that may arise for shelter residents and update Three Sisters Advocates and the Program Manager accordingly.
  • Coordinate and provide services for court ordered Supervised Visitation and Exchanges between parents and children.
  • Monitor safety of participants during visitation and suspend or terminate any visit in which the safety of the participants cannot be maintained.
  • Provide transportation to a neutral location for exchanges as required.
  • Complete required visitation/exchange paperwork in a timely, accurate, objective, and confidential manner.
  • Conduct all work in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of the shelter and of the Three Sisters Program as a whole.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are no supervisor requirements for this position.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience and/or training in crisis intervention and counseling an asset. Needed training will be provided on the job.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have the ability to understand and evaluate the needs of the safe home shelter residents. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have ability to work a flexible work schedule.

 

CERTIFICATION AND TRAININGS:

Complete required program training and maintain certification including but not limited to Visitation Monitor Training, Mandated Reporter Certification, and Crisis Intervention & Assessment Training.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age, have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
