Individual Workshop Details:


Soft Skills for Job Search and Employment Success

November 12, 2019 – 5:30 – 7:30 ***Rescheduled: Thursday, November 14, 2019 6PM

AERC Classroom – 12 maximum participants | Instructor – Julie Johnson, SUNY Potsdam


An interactive workshop on soft skills such as communication skills, team building and collaborations skills, positive attitude, time management skills, adaptability, curiosity/lifelong

learners, problem solving, creativity and work ethic.



Customer Service 101 – It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it

Customer service skills are necessary in today’s workforce. Participants will learn about the basic customer service skills to build or enhance skills that will lead to supporting the needs of a future or current employer. Participants will also learn the difference between internal and external customers and why both are extremely important to professional development and career success.


Standard First Aid / CPR / AED – National Safety Council for First Aid / CPR / AED Certificate Training | November 21, 2019 - 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

St. Regis Recreation Center, St. Regis, Quebec – 18 people maximum participants

First Aid: Acting in an Emergency, Preventing Disease Transmission, Check the victim, recover Position, Bleeding and Wound Care, Shock, burns, Bone, Joint and Muscle Injuries.


CPR/AED: Shock, Heart Attack/Angina, rescue Breathing, compressions, Automatic External Defibrillator, Chocking Responsive, Chocking Unresponsive



Basic Computer Skills

November 27, 2019 – 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Intro to Microsoft Word tools and applications. Hands on learning



Financial Literacy Workshop

December 4, 2019 – 6:00 – 8:00

AERC Classroom – 10 maximum participants

Budgeting and Saving, Credit Reports and Credit Scores, Identity Theft and Fraud



Smart Serve Certificate

December 9, 2019 – 1:00 – 5:00pm

AERC Classroom – 8 maximum participants

Instruction – Online Training

The Smart Serve Responsible Alcohol Beverage Sales & Service Training Program is approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) as the only responsible alcohol training program for Ontario. Smart Serve is a dedicated advocate for a safer and healthier Ontario.



Waitress/Waiter Workshop

Intro to the art of a restaurant waiter/waitress. Customer service skills, first impressions, how to handle a difficult customer, engaging and role playing the steps to be a good front of the house worker.

Speed Networking Event

December 18, 2019 – 5:00 – 9:00

Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort – 20 maximum participants

Instructor – AERC – Leona Francis, Susan Rourke, Danielle Salgado, Wendy Tarbell


An event for job seekers to connect with business professional in various sectors in and around the community. It is a fun, exciting and effective way to meet new people in a social setting. Job seekers and business professionals will have approximately two minutes to deliver a networking script describing who they are what they do.
