
Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Economic Development Department in partnership with the Akwesasne Career & Employment Support Services (ACESS) is offering a 2-week Certified Fibre Optics Technician (CFOT) training program. We are seeking individuals who are looking for a career in the fibre optics field. This 2-week program will train and certify individuals to have the knowledge of installing fiber optics on the Northern portion of Akwesasne.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Exhibit a friendly and courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and customers
Motivational, listening, and problem-solving skills
Ability to continually enhance customer service skills
Knowledge of basic communication principles
Basic computer skills
Work at heights more than 15 to 20 feet
Ability to lift more than 50 lbs
Qualification Requirements:
Possession of valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a clean CPIC or background check
Previous technical experience an asset but not required
Must meet ACESS eligibility requirements
This 2-week course comprises of 4 days of Certified Fibre Optics Technician training, 2 days of Certified Fibre Optics Specialist training and 4 days of Safety and Soft Skills training.
The start date for the course is Monday, November 30, 2020.
