Referral Service

ACESS & AERC maintains a list of available and qualified job seekers at all levels of employment. We can forward resumes of pre-screened individuals that meet the employer's criteria.

Capacity Building Workshops

ACESS offers free workshops designed to increase the capacity of Akwesasne businesses. Topics include, but are not limited to, computer training, financial management, tax/insurance issues, compliance requirements and marketing tips.

Job/Recruitment Fairs

ACESS & AERC hosts job fairs annually where employers can sponsor a table and meet job seekers face-to-face. Employers seeking to fill several positions can arrange a recruitment fair at one of our facilities to meet their needs.

Employer Eligibility

EMPLOYER ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to apply as a sponsor of an ACESS project, an eligible organization or employer is defined as one that has been in existence and fully operational for at least six months as demonstrated by:

  • Register with Revenue Canada

  • Banking & Operations (payroll, administration, production, sales, etc.)

  • Proof of Insurance Coverage (WSIB/CNESST Comprehensive General Liability) for participating clients for the duration of the funded activity at a level appropriate to the activities to be undertaken

An organization or employer that cannot meet these guidelines as determined by ACESS may be directed to other ACESS programs or may use a Third-Party Sponsor.

SPONSORING SUBSIDIZED WAGES

Our wage subsidy programs (Job Ops, Job Creation, Local Projects, Intern & Apprenticeships, SEED, Best Matches) require the sponsorship of an eligible employer to provide on-the-job training and experience for our clients. The above mentioned section outlines the basic eligibility requirements, third party guidelines, and financial assistance that may be provided. THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS

In the event that an organization or employer doesn't meet the minimum requirements outlined above, the employer may utilize a third party.

A third party is an eligible organization/employer.

Funding eligibility will be determined on the proposed project activities and the eligible employer agreeing to sponsor the project by submitting a letter of sponsorship.

REPEATED PROJECT POLICY

For situations where applications are received form the same organization/employer for repeated projects, activities, or participants, the following guideline applies:

 

A three-contract limit will be applied to any one employer's direct and third-party projects/activities for the same or similar project/activity. With each application, the organization/employer is required to show progression in the training and/or experience being provided to the participants.

 

Additional contracts may be considered based in the following considerations:

  • Contribution to entry level skills

  • Skills developed continue to be utilized in the targeted fields

  • Ratio of repeat to new participants

  • Employment success rates

  • Progression of training offered
